Does acupuncture hurt?
Most people find acupuncture comfortable. The needles used are extremely fine and sensations vary from person to person. Cliff will explain everything before treatment and your comfort is monitored throughout.
What happens at my first appointment?
Your first appointment begins with a discussion about your health history, your current concerns and what you would like help with. The proposed treatment will then be explained before proceeding.
How long is an acupuncture appointment?
Cliff will confirm how much time to allow for your appointment when you book.
What should I wear?
Comfortable, loose-fitting clothing is usually best. Depending on the area being treated, you may be asked to expose an appropriate treatment area while maintaining privacy and comfort.
How many treatments will I need?
This varies depending on the individual, how long the problem has been present and how you respond to treatment. Cliff can discuss an appropriate plan with you following assessment.
Can I claim acupuncture through my health insurance?
Sunrise Acupuncture Therapy is recognised by VHI, Laya Healthcare and Irish Life Health. Eligibility and reimbursement depend on your individual policy and level of cover. Treatment receipts are available.
